Welcome to Abu Bakr Boys School

Our challenge is the future - the future is the child of today. The challenge of providing quality within a friendly faith environment is a tough target - it's our target.

Abu Bakr Boys School is an academic establishment aiming to educate boys over the age of eleven in a safe, secure, happy and Islamic environment. The Boys school started with 20 residential students and 40-day only students in September 2006 and now caters for 40 residential students and 100-day only students. We provide an opportunity to study the traditional sciences concurrently with secondary academic education.

 

 

An inspection was carried out by Ofsted under section 162A of the Education Act 2002, as amended by schedule 8 of the education Act 2005.

Evaluation of the School

Abu Bakr is a good school that fulfils its aims effectively. It is a calm, orderly community with a caring atmosphere. The quality of education is good. Teaching is good overall with some outstanding lessons seen. Pupils achieve well and the standard of their work is good. Teachers are good role models who promote pupils spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. The welfare, health and safety of pupils is good.

 

Quality of Education

The curriculum is good, broad and balanced. There are detailed schemes of work in place for secular subjects.

The personal, social and health education and citizenship programmes enhance the curriculum. The daily congregational prayers are an integral part of curricular provision and make a significant contribution to pupils' personal development. The quality of teaching is good overall. Working relationships are trusting and supportive and this helps lay a very effective foundation for good learning. Pupils' behaviour is outstanding. Pupils are highly motivated and work hard. Attitudes are exemplary.

 

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development of pupils

The provision for pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is good overall. Pupils' strong work ethic and excellent behaviour is instilled effectively through Islamic studies and citizenship lessons. They enjoy their time in school and attendance is good. Pupils are proud of their Islamic identity which helps nurture their self-confidence and self-esteem.

 

Welfare, health and safety of the pupils

Provision for pupils' welfare, health and safety is good. The school has all the required policies in place and the day to day health and safety of the pupils, is good.

 

Suitability of the proprietor and staff

The schools' staff recruitment procedures are rigorous and consistently implemented and therefore conform to all regulations.

 

School's premises and accommodation

The boys' school is purpose-built and the standard of accommodation is good. Much of the building has recently been refurbished and classrooms are
light, bright and spacious.

 

Provision of information for parents, carers and others

The school provides good information for parents, conforming to all regulations. Regular letters keep parents well informed about school affairs.

 

Procedures for handling complaints

The school's complaints policy meets all of the required regulations.
